colonial ford

Construction is underway on the new 50,000 square foot Colonial Ford dealership on Pilgrim Hill Road in Plymouth, Massachusetts.  This challenging 14 acre site contained dramatic elevation changes and numerous existing drainage easements created to handle storm-water runoff from abutting properties.  Although there was significant topographic relief, the site was designed to balance earthworks.  Tiered vehicle storage areas were designed into the slopes that will accommodate 750 vehicles when completed.  The building features a service reception area for six vehicles, a new car delivery area, forty car and truck bays and a body shop.  Vehicle and pedestrian circulation throughout the site were design to minimize conflicts.  Vehicle display pods are located at the front of the site to maximize visibility from the busy Samoset Street intersection.  Storm-water will be channeled to a large infiltration basin located at the site’s natural low point located at center of the site.  Native street trees will line the access drive and shade trees with under-story ornamental grasses and perennials will be planted in the landscape islands.
